MC03 Software Update - 29.07.2026Updated 11 hours ago

Version: Aphy OS MC03.20260710.U0

Date: 29.07.2026

What's New

System

  • Updated Android Security Patch Level to 5 June 2025.
  • Fixed an issue where the keyboard could unexpectedly appear by double-tapping the loading screen during device onboarding.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause onboarding to become permanently stuck if network connectivity was lost while creating an Aphy account.
  • Fixed an issue where the language selected during the first step of onboarding was not always applied after setup completion. The selected language is now correctly retained after the First Time Setup.
  • Added weak PIN validation during onboarding. Commonly used PINs (such as 123456) are now rejected when creating the device lock PIN.
  • Removed the Pattern screen lock option to improve device security.
  • Disabled the Auto-confirm PIN option in the PIN settings to prevent accidental security weaknesses.
  • Camera and Gallery now automatically receive the required media permissions as preloaded system applications. Opening Gallery from Camera no longer triggers additional permission requests.

Vibration

  • Added the initial implementation of vibration support.
  • Incoming calls now vibrate correctly when vibration mode is enabled.
  • Fixed vibration handling for notifications and calls while the device is in Silent mode. Messaging applications such as Signal, Molly, Telegram and WhatsApp now correctly trigger vibration according to the selected notification settings.

USB

  • microSD cards are now accessible through USB File Transfer (MTP). Both internal storage and the inserted microSD card are available when the device is connected to a PC.
  • Fixed an issue where connecting USB-C headphones could incorrectly launch Switch to Punkt.

Switch to Punkt

  • APK downloads now use the proper filename (SwitchtoPunkt.apk) instead of the previous internal package name (app.aphy.switchtopunkt.userdebug.current.apk).

User Interface

  • Fixed the App Tray background so it no longer incorrectly displays the Wild Web background.
  • Corrected the Battery Saver icon. The appropriate battery icon is now shown whenever Battery Saver is enabled.

Known issues

Core System

  • Fingerprint enrollment remains unavailable and is still under development.
  • Google Play Services ships with an outdated version and cannot currently be updated manually.
  • App Tray search redirects all searches to Google Search instead of performing local device searches.
  • In rare circumstances, incoming calls or message notifications may be delayed while the device is idle. Investigation is ongoing.

Connectivity

VPN

Digital Nomad VPN may establish a connection successfully, but internet traffic can fail on IPv6-enabled mobile networks.

Workaround

Force the APN to use IPv4 only:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Go to Network & Internet
  3. Select SIM & Mobile Network
  4. Open Access Point Names (APN)
  5. Select the active APN.
  6. Locate APN Protocol and APN Roaming Protocol.
  7. Set both to IPv4.
  8. Save the changes.

Switch to Punkt

  • Switch to Punkt between MC03 and MC02 is currently not supported. Compatibility requires a future software update for MC02.
  • Switch to Punkt may not work correctly with some Android 16 devices, including Google Pixel 8 and newer models.

User Interface

  • The status bar clock position may shift by a few pixels depending on the active page (Vault, Wild Web and App Tray).
  • Some Settings screens display inconsistent background colors (black/gray). Visual consistency improvements are planned.

Localization

  • Some localized translations contain incorrect or inconsistent strings in certain languages. These localization issues will be corrected in the next software update.

eSIM (Alpha)

The eSIM feature is currently considered Alpha and remains under active development. Functionality and compatibility will continue to improve in upcoming releases.
