MC03 Software Update - MC03.20261007.U0Updated 22 minutes ago

Version: AphyOS MC03.20261007.U0

Getting the latest update

Delayed Delivery: Our updates roll out in waves quietly in the background to ensure system stability. Roll out may take up to 24 hours to appear and restarting your device will not speed things up.

Want it right now?

1. Make sure your battery is above 30% (or plug it into a charger).

2. Go to Settings > System > Update.

3. Tap Check for Updates to manually pull the update instantly

What's New

Security

  • Updated Android Security Patch Level to 5 September 2026, including the latest security fixes and improvements.

System

  • Updated the SIM Toolkit app icon to align with the AphyOS visual style.
  • Improved the low-battery experience when attempting to power on a fully discharged device.
  • Improved keyboard handling after changing the system language, ensuring HeliBoard is selected correctly.
  • Removed the HeliBoard app icon from the App Tray. HeliBoard can now be configured directly from Settings → System → Keyboard.

Vault

  • Fixed an issue where red lines could appear under the date and time.
  • Weather is no longer opened when tapping the time on the Vault screen.

WildWeb

  • Fixed an issue where app icons could disappear from the Dock bar when using increased display or font sizes.

Aphy Apps

  • Improved app installation stability when Danish is selected as the system language.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause the Apps app to crash when enabling Google Services.
  • Fixed an issue that could incorrectly display a "Subscription Expired" message when installing apps or enabling Google Services.

Sandboxed Google Play

  • Removed the "Configure Play Store updates" menu option from the Sandboxed Google Play screen.

Known Issues

Connectivity

Airplane Mode

Airplane Mode is currently affected by known issues and should not be relied upon to disable cellular connectivity.

Important: When travelling by air, power off the MC03 completely instead of using Airplane Mode to ensure that cellular connectivity is disabled.

  • The cellular network may remain active after enabling Airplane Mode.
  • The cellular network may not recover correctly after Airplane Mode is disabled. A subsequent device reboot is required to restore normal cellular functionality.

eSIM (Alpha)

  • The eSIM feature is currently considered Alpha and remains under active development. Functionality and compatibility will continue to improve in upcoming releases.

Security

Fingerprint (Alpha)

  • Fingerprint enrollment remains unavailable and is still under development.

Aphy Account and Aphy Store

  • In some cases, an active Aphy Account may be incorrectly detected as expired, preventing applications from being downloaded from the Aphy Store.

Workaround

  1. Open the Aphy Account app.
  2. Return to the Aphy Store.
  3. The account should be recognized as active again and applications can be downloaded normally.

Core System

  • The Aphy navigation button may intermittently stop responding.
  • After changing the system language, the AOSP keyboard may be re-enabled even when HeliBoard is selected.
  • Text-to-Speech is currently not working with TalkBack.
  • After powering on or rebooting the device, the Lock Screen may temporarily display an incorrect 100% battery level before updating to the actual value.
  • In rare circumstances, incoming calls or message notifications may be delayed while the device is idle.

Google Services

  • Google Play Services ships with an outdated version and cannot currently be updated manually.
  • Google Wallet functionality may appear after enabling Google Services even when Google Wallet is not installed.
  • Android Auto cannot currently be installed on AphyOS.
  • A Google Backup option may be visible in Settings even though Google Backup is not currently supported.

VPN

Digital Nomad VPN may establish a connection successfully, but internet traffic can fail on IPv6-enabled mobile networks.

Workaround

Force the APN to use IPv4 only:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Go to Network & Internet.
  3. Select SIM & Mobile Network.
  4. Open Access Point Names (APN).
  5. Select the active APN.
  6. Locate APN Protocol and APN Roaming Protocol.
  7. Set both to IPv4.
  8. Save the changes.

System Updates

  • An issue has been identified where the System Updater may stop automatically checking for or receiving Over-The-Air (OTA) updates.
  • If your device is not detecting new updates, you must manually reset the update service using the following steps:
  1. Go to Settings → Apps → See all apps.
  2. Tap the three dots in the top-right corner and select Show system.
  3. Locate and select System Updater from the list.
  4. Tap Storage & cache, then select Clear storage.
  5. Restart the device and manually check for updates again.

Note: Clearing the System Updater storage will not delete any personal data, photos, or files from your device.

Switch to Punkt

  • Switch to Punkt between MC03 and MC02 is currently not supported. Compatibility requires a future software update for MC02.

User Interface

  • The status bar clock position may shift by a few pixels depending on the active page (Vault, WildWeb and App Tray).
  • Vault and WildWeb may occasionally appear faded or semi-transparent.
  • The Vault and WildWeb layout may occasionally display incorrect spacing until the device is rebooted.
  • Status bar icons may not be visible while the Recent Apps screen is open.

Notifications

  • Proton Mail notifications may not be received even when notifications are enabled. New emails are correctly received and accessible in the Proton Mail app, but no notification is displayed and the notification dot does not appear on the Vault screen.

Location

  • The Location indicator may appear even when no applications have Location permission.
